You need your razor's blade to be as sharp as possible and you need to be able to see when shaving your vagina.

TIP: Always trim long pubic hairs down to a stubble with scissors or a hair trimmer, not your razor.

TIP: The best position for shaving your vagina is while in the tub or shower with one leg up, supported by something that isn't slippery. But some females find it easier to reach all of the vaginal area while seated on an open toilet seat.

Moisturizing your skin and hair will make shaving your vagina much easier.

TIP: If you're not able to take a long, hot shower or bath, at least place a warm cloth over your vaginal area for 3-5 minutes.

Dry hair is tough and pubic hair is coarse, a bad combination. Dry hairs will more often than not break while you're shaving your vagina.

TIP: Apply a lot of a good lubricant and work it into the skin and hair in a circular motion. This will help the hairs stand up and be more easily sliced cleanly by your blade.

A dull blade is the number one cause of skin irritations because it will pull on the follicles and only tear the hairs.

TIP: ALWAYS make sure you use a fresh, clean blade EVERY TIME you start shaving your vagina.

If you start by shaving against the direction your vaginal hair grows, you'll create more pulling of the follicles and tearing of the hairs, and consequently, irritations.

TIP: Always start shaving your vagina at the the back, around the sides and then the front with the direction your vaginal hair grows first. Once you have the bulk of the hairs removed, then you can shave against the direction the hair grows. This will give you a clean, close and smooth shave, without aggravating the skin so much.

If you believe pressing down or shaving over the same area repeatedly will give you a closer, smoother shave, you're mistaken. You'll only get razor burns, rashes and bumps that may even turn into ingrown hairs that become infected.

TIP: Do not apply much pressure or shave any one area more than absolutely necessary.

To make shaving your vagina complete, you really need to shave any hairs just inside the larger, outer lips.

TIP: Gently pull and flatten this looser skin taut with one hand as you slowly draw the razor across with the other. BE CAREFUL!

Many females are aware that their vaginal area becomes super sensitive just before, during and after the peak of their menstrual cycle.

TIP: You can limit irritations if you schedule shaving your vagina until this peak period has passed.

FINAL TIP: Use something other than a wet razor for shaving your vagina.
