How Best To Remove Unwanted Hair?

Almost every body has some unwanted hair that needs to be removed. Question is, how best to remove unwanted hair?

It depends on how sensitive your skin is in the area of the body you want to remove unwanted hair. Some hair removal products or processes are not suitable for all parts of the body or for people with super sensitive skin.

The best any of us can do is try the latest products or processes and hopefully find one that works well for us to remove unwanted hair, at least on most parts of our bodies. There might not be one system perfect for every body.

The following is a list of the latest:

The very latest process for removing unwanted hair is laser hair removal. Basically, laser hair removal works because a focused beam of laser light is absorbed by the melanin, pigment, in dark hair, which damages the hair root in the follicle, the skin depression from which the hair grows, to at least slow down the growth of the hair.

Some have described the experience of laser hair removal as being similar to a rubber band being snapped against the skin with each pulse of laser light. It's painful enough that a topical anesthetic should be used beforehand to numb the pain.

Laser hair removal is able to remove hundreds of hairs at one time and is suitable for any part of the body, including a female's face. Of course it depends on the size of the area and the color of the hair, but usually, only 2 to 4 treatments, ranging in price from $150 to $500, are needed to effectively remove unwanted hair from any part of the body.

There have been reports of laser treatments eliminating thirty to forty percent of hair for as long as a year, but laser hair removal does NOT remove unwanted hair permanently. It's good for several weeks.

Some people, including females seeking facial hair removal, elect to remove unwanted hair by electrolysis, which involves sticking a fine needle into each hair follicle, and basically shocking it with electricity or chemicals or both to disable it. It's quite painful and a topical anesthetic should definitely be used beforehand.

There is scientific evidence to support that this process is as close to permanent as any hair removal process gets, but - Even it still doesn't last forever, because a new root cell can regenerate hair.

Waxing, which basically yanks hair out by its roots, seems to be a popular product, in the form of at home kits which range in cost from $20-$90, and a process, done at selected salons and spas for $25-$100 per session, to remove unwanted hair. A numbing spray or gel should be used about an hour before using the product or undergoing the process. Results last anywhere from 3-8 weeks and can be used to remove unwanted hair from any part of the body.

One of the least expensive products, usually about $8, to remove unwanted hair is a depilatory, which basically melts the hair with harsh chemicals. This product is good for legs, underarms and only the bikini line area, if you're very careful, and will need to be used every few days.

The product used to remove unwanted hair most often - The wet razor. It's convenient, easy to use and the least expensive of all other products to remove unwanted hair on any part of the body, with the exception of hair on a females face. Of course you have to shave about every 4 days and if you're not careful, you end up with raw, irritated skin.

Earlier it was suggested that there might not be one system perfect for every body. Ah, but there is.
