Which Is The Best Hair Removal System?

A system is: "An organized and coordinated method; a procedure." Every form of hair removal, from shaving to laser treatments, has its own system. Add to this that every person has their own personal system of hair removal and it gets pretty complicated.

But, just like anything complex, if you break it down into, "bite size", pieces, it's not hard to understand. And once you do that, you begin to see that there are some aspects that are the same across the board, regardless the hair removal system.

So what we'll take a look at here are those aspects that are the same and are things each of us can do to improve the results of whatever hair removal system we use.

Whether it's an at home hair removal system such as shaving, epilation, depilation, sugaring or waxing or a procedure performed in a clinic, salon or spa such as waxing, electrolysis or laser treatments - Plan on doing it as late in the day as possible.

Partly because your skin will be taut and your hairs more exposed, but more because the sooner you can do without wearing any tight fitting clothing the better. For instance, if you've just had a bikini wax, the last thing you want to have to do is walk around, even in a thong, for the rest of the day. Not unless sheer torture is your thing ... It's best to limit as much friction as possible after any type of hair removal system.

If you're going to be using an at home hair removal system on yourself, or anyone else for that matter, be sure you're fully awake, alert and totally straight before you even start.

If you're going out to have waxing, electrolysis or laser treatments done, you definitely need to use a numbing substance. The professionals performing the procedure would appreciate it if you'd keep it limited to a topical anesthetic ...

For epilation, depilation, sugaring or waxing, it's best if hairs are at least an eighth of an inch long. It gives these hair removal systems more hair to work with, whether for pulling or melting.

It's a good idea to exfoliate - remove the dead skin cells from the surface of your skin - before any type of hair removal system.

For the hair removal system of shaving, epilation, or depilation, the best way is to take a long, hot shower or bath and scrub with a washcloth, mesh sponge or loofah. Wet hair will cut, pluck and melt easier.

With the hair removal system of sugaring, waxing, electrolysis or laser treatments, you don't want to bathe beforehand. Hair absorbs moisture which makes it soft and harder for the sugar paste or wax to adhere to and tough hair is easier to pull off, out and, "zap". Lightly powder your skin to absorb natural oils.

For the hair removal system of shaving or depilation, always rinse your skin thoroughly with warm water. And then rinse again with cold water, or, if you think you can handle it, rub the area with an ice cube.

Following any other other hair removal system, flush the area with cool water as soon as possible to soothe your aggravated skin!

After any hair removal system, avoid direct sunlight for at least 24 hours, preferably 48 hours, as the skin is raw and/or agitated and will burn much more easily.

These then, are some of the aspects that are the same across the board, and things each of us can do to improve the results of whatever hair removal system we use.
