Why Do You Think A Girl Is Shaving Her Pubic Hair?

Today, a girl shaving her pubic hair is not unusual. In fact, according to the latest research, pubic shaving is done by almost a majority of girls, starting as early as age eleven.

Included in this current research is information from family doctors who report that more and more of their young female patients ask if it's okay to shave their pubic hair. A number of those who don't ask about it, are already girls shaving their pubic hair. And of those, not all of them ask that the doctor not tell her parents.

Because it's imperative that a doctor keep confidences, it's unknown if the reason the girl shaving her pubic hair is not requesting, "secrecy", is because her parents already know or if she really just doesn't care if they know.

In some ways the doctor/client confidentiality in this context is unfortunate. This could reveal some enlightening information about the parent's attitudes, which may affect a girl shaving her pubic hair. Because even if the parents are shaving their pubic hair, they might not want their, "little", girl shaving her pubic hair.

Mostly because shaving pubic hair is an aspect of sexuality, and many parents might not want to accept their little girl is shaving her pubic hair and exploring her sexuality. Mostly because then the parents will be forced to be concerned about their daughter, "getting in trouble", or into having, "the talk", with her.

It's even possible that their daughter is aware that one or both of her parents are shaving their pubic hair. Which could mean she got the idea from them, or at least that it's okay to do so.

It's also a possibility that parents of a girl shaving her pubic hair may be concerned that she's doing it not because she's becoming interested in sex, but because she's refusing to accept this sign of becoming a woman and she doesn't want that. Which will force an entirely different, "talk".

So maybe what's really needed to better understand a girl who is shaving her pubic hair is some research on parents who know their little girl is shaving her pubic hair and what they think and feel about it.

If it's even that important.

Thing is - Apparently, a girl shaving her pubic hair is important or there wouldn't be so many requests for and so much information about the topic.

Regardless why a girl is shaving her pubic hair, one can only hope she's being careful and using a safe shaving tool.
