Chest Hair Shaving For The Furry Guy
|
Having some chest hairs is sexy. But, more often than not, if you look "furry", this is not attractive. Chest hair shaving may be the way to go.
Just follow these few simple rules for the best results for shaving chest hair:
Don't start shaving your chest when you first get up after sleeping. Body fluids have made the skin puffy, which makes it harder for the razor to get close to the hair follicle. If you allow about 20-30 minutes, your skin will become more taut and the hair shaft more exposed.
If your chest hair is somewhat long, trim it down before shaving. You can use scissors, but a hair trimmer works best.
Always thoroughly moisturize your chest hair and skin. Take a shower first or better yet, shave in the shower if you can. The steam will open the pores and relax the skin. And wet, soft hairs are much easier to shave, which reduces wear on your skin and your razor's blade. Allow your skin to be wet for at least five to ten minutes before shaving your chest hair.
Apply whatever lubricant you prefer to further soften the hair, lock in moisture, help keep the hair erect, reduce friction and condition your skin. Use a rich lubricant that doesn't contain chemicals to irritate your skin and helps the razor glide easily across the skin while shaving chest hair.
Always use a fresh blade when you shave your chest. And because the chest is such a large area to shave, have more clean blades where you can get at them easily when you need a change. If your razor even starts to drag, replace the blade immediately.
Gently pull the skin taut with one hand and draw the razor across your skin with the other in long strokes. Shave your chest hairs down, then upward.
You don't need to apply much pressure when shaving your chest hair. Shave slowly to avoid cutting yourself, missing hairs or causing razor burns.
Make sure there's always plenty of lubricant as you're shaving. And don't shave over the same area repeatedly.
Once finished, thoroughly rinse off with warm water. Then, rinse with cold water. Rub your chest with an ice cube if you think you can stand it. This helps to calm and close agitated pores after shaving.
Pat, don't rub, your chest dry with a clean, soft towel.
Because alcohol based products dry out the skin and could cause irritation, try Tea Tree oil, a popular all natural remedy, that will not only kill bacteria and prevent infection but also condition your raw skin from shaving your chest hair.
To help keep the skin from becoming inflamed after shaving, many males find a light dusting of talc free powder or just plain old corn starch does the trick.
It's also best to wear loose fitting clothing especially right after shaving your chest hair to limit friction.
Every guy's chest hair grows at different rates. The stubble can get pretty annoying. Expect to shave every one to four days.
